Demand

Logistic Companies

These organized players operate large truck fleets and focus on specific applications. They customize truck load bodies for particular purposes and do not frequently switch them between applications. For example, a long-distance parcel truck is not used for medium-distance vegetable and fruit transport

Fleet Operators

This group consists of individual owner-drivers and small to medium-sized truck fleetsthat cater to a wide range of applications. Due to fluctuating demands, they prefer more generic truck load bodies that can be swapped across different applications. For instance, a market load truck with an open load body may transport cement bags using temporary covers.

Captive Fleets

These specialized trucks, branded with corporate logos, are hired exclusively forspecific purposes and customers. Examples include petroleum/milk/edible oil tankers, coal handling trucks, LPG bulkers, and ready concrete mix trucks.

Other Demand Aggregators

This category includes goods manufacturers, construction contractors, e-Commerce corporations, booking agents, fleet operators, and logistic companies thatshare their high demand with individual truck owners. Sub-contracting usually occurs through personal relations, and organized truck booking platforms like Uber are not yet prominent in India.

Truck Owners and Drivers

Although not directly involved in creating demand, truck owners and drivers often interact directly with customers and sometimes acquire business through personal influence and credibility. Truck driving is considered a physically demanding job that keeps drivers away from their families, resulting in a shortage of drivers.
