Best practices

This section provides glimpses of international best practices with a mix of infrastructure, policy, and operations. These are reflective of the global commitments and plans stated earlier in the section to present upon the practices that can be adopted for e-Trucks transition in India.

In 2022, Milence was established as a joint venture by Daimler Truck, Traton Group, and the Volvo Group with the objective of achieving a fossil-free future for road transport. High-performance charging infrastructure is built and managed by Milence, which not only offers sustainable energy for all but also the required safety and convenience In Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada, incentives are provided to encourage the purchase of e-Trucks. These incentives vary by country and may include tax credits, grants, or subsidies. Private companies like Scania issued green bonds as part of their broader sustainability strategy, which includes a commitment to achieving net- zero emissions by 2050. By issuing green bonds, Scania is able to attract investors who are interested in supporting sustainable projects and activities. The two primary objectives are to secure the capacity for battery production and to ensure that Scania develops the most efficient and high-performing battery electric vehicles. Further, these are detailed down in the table below providing best practices around the world.
